Two Hour Special and Interview with Robin Lane of Robin Lane & The Chartbusters on WMBR's Lost & Found Program

Was aired on the program: Tuesday, March 5, 2019
12:00pm - 2:00pm

We choose to call her one of Boston's own, but Robin Lane was born and lived close to 30 years in Los Angeles, playing her part in the 1960s Laurel and Topango Canyon music scenes, hanging with Crazy Horse, living and recording with Neil Young, and marrying guitarist Andy Summers, later of the Police. She made her way east in the '70s, arriving in Boston in 1976 and hooking up with two members of Jonathan Richman's Modern Lovers (guitarists Asa Brebner and Leroy Radcliff), as well as bassist Scott Baerenwald and drummer Tim Jackson, to form Robin Lane & The Chartbusters. From 1980-1982 they put out two LPS and an EP on Warner Bros, and then broke up. Robin has since released 6 albums over 30 years as well as a Chartbusters reunion record in 2003. On this Women's Week celebration, Robin "represents," and speaks of her work with the Turner Falls, Massachusetts Women's Resource Center, using music therapy to aid survivors of abuse. And we dig deep into her storied career in music. Robin and her Chartbusters have just released their own career-spanning 3-CD set "Many Years Ago."
